Creating a good part of the city is central to BURA; suitable places to live, work and stay. We work on one integral story in which complex is reduced to a natural design, with an eye for the spatial context of a project. We are service-oriented and flexible to the customer and critical where necessary. In concrete terms, we deliver urban visions and plans, image quality plans, volume and feasibility studies, design of the outdoor space and Supervision. In this way we gradually build the city of tomorrow.

Major challenges such as the climate, urbanization, mobility and energy transition are given a place in our cities and regions. By creating visions and strategies, we see how these tasks can be given a place in an integral and qualitative way. BURA works in an investigative manner and uses interactive workshops to identify challenges and jointly develop (spatial) scenarios. In this way we arrive at attractive new stories and broadly supported strategic visions that provide a compass for the future.

BURA uses research by design to understand complex issues and to put urgent issues on the agenda. With an integrated view and by exploring various scenarios with multiple parties, new insights and meaningful research are created. It provides insight into opportunities, provides inspiration and shows which themes and locations are crucial. In research by design we work in a visual way to show the spatial and social impact.

BURA believes that the city and region offer many opportunities for today’s major social issues. To properly conduct the debate about the future of the city, we give lectures, masterclasses, workshops and interviews. We support, develop and have an extensive network. We want to inspire and put things on the agenda so that we can take steps together towards a healthy, green and social city.
