On October 12, the Coalition Space for Work presented the award ‘Best mix with Space for Work -2023’ to project MENU, Utrecht. At the award ceremony, Floris van der Zee (partner BURA), presented the plans for the transformation of the Schieoevers Noord area in Delft.
The reason for giving this presentation was the location of the award ceremony: KD-Lab in Schieoevers, a wooden, circular incubator where more than 20 start-ups and scale-ups are housed in the former Cable Factory in Delft. Amvest and Kondor Wessels will develop the Cable District here in the coming years: a lively Delft city district on the Schie, with a combination of working, living and facilities as part of Maakstad Schieoevers. Olga Wagenaar-Van der Oord (Amvest) explained the design for the Cable District in more detail. Floris is active as one of the supervisors, together with Hilde Blank and Albert Herder, in the Schieoevers Noord quality team for the municipality of Delft).
Initiator Coalition Space for Work launched the prize to collect examples of projects that focus on developing affordable spaces for work in the city in combination with housing and other functions. Report of the award ceremony and overview of the nominees can be found here
