Post-Growth City Symposium 10 March in Pakhuis de Zwijger
In these turbulent and sometimes destructive times, both nationally and internationally, we need to work together with as many progressive movements, companies and people as possible on a positive narrative, in order to achieve a better, sustainable future for everyone.
Together with BURA and Crimson Historians & Urbanists, Architectenweb is organizing the Post-Growth City symposium on Monday 10 March 2025 in Pakhuis de Zwijger, in which we will bring together city makers, designers, policymakers, researchers, developers and perhaps politicians who are all looking in their own way for how we can achieve more sustainable, social and fairer urban developments.
Post-Growth City is a self-initiated agenda-setting research by BURA and Crimson Historians & Urbanists, into a sustainable and just city. This research reflects on the way urban regions are designed in a fundamentally different way. In doing so, it looks for ways of development, in which the dominant influence of economic growth thinking is reduced, and space is given to other forms of growth. Post-Growth City builds on many other movements, such as degrowth, broad prosperity, doughnut economy, wellbeing economy, meaning economy and regenerative economy. Let’s talk to each other about how we can build this new narrative together and take concrete steps!
We have a fantastic lineup of speakers and panelists, including Marco Broekman (BURA ), Wouter Vanstiphout (Crimson Historians & Urbanists ), Dimitri Minten (RE-ST architectenvennootschap ), Thieme Hennis (And The People ), Peter van Assche (bureau SLA – we are architects ), Tjeerd J. Haccou (CrowdBuilding ) Marnix Norder (Steenvlinder ), Sophie Bloemen (Common Networks ), Annius Hoornstra (The Positive Lab ), Nicky Pouw (University of Amsterdam ) and Cécile van Oppen (Copper8 ).
We are very happy with the moderation of Saskia van Stein (IABR ) and the many applications we have already received.
So sign up quickly for a spot in the Main Hall.
