Expertmeeting post-war neighborhoods

This Wednesday, November 1 2023, Space Encounters and BURA are organizing an expert meeting about post-war neighborhoods. This meeting will take place between 2:00 PM and 5:30 PM at the Van Eesteren Museum Amsterdam.
This expert meeting explores the tension between the strength of the spatial design of the neighborhoods and the current challenges that the neighborhoods face. The central question is how the historic spatial quality of post-war neighborhoods can play a role in solving today’s major challenges. In the conversation we look for how and where things conflict, how we can further specify the assignment and where the opportunities for synergy lie.
Participants in the session include: Jorn Konijn (Director of the Van Eesteren Museum), Anita Blom (Advisor and researcher on post-war heritage and spatial quality), Vita Teunissen (SteenhuisMeurs), Nathalie Van Hoeven (Eigen Haard), Rick Bruggink (Office Winhov), Dr. ir. Flora Nycolaas (Municipality of Amsterdam), like bijlsma (PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency), Marije Stelloo (Municipality of The Hague), Simone Rots / michelle provoost (Crimson Historians & Urbanists), Dr. Jos Gadet (Municipality of Amsterdam).
Attending the session is free of charge and will end with a networking drink.
This expert meeting is made possible by the EFL Foundation.
