BURA TALKS with Levs

Last Tuesday, LEVS visited BURA during the second BURA TALKS of 2024.
The theme of the evening was one of our expertise: ‘Healthy Urbanisation’ and in particular the theme ‘Low Carbon Urbanism’. Partners and project-architects of LEVS presented four projects and design methods around this theme, and afterwards we had some inspiring conversations about projects of BURA, such as Rijnpark Arnhem, Pampus Almere, Post-Growth City and Merwede.

We are impressed by the Carbon-Based design methods that LEVS has developed, and the way they use design and craftsmanship to change and question the current “system”. As one of the most conservative and polluting industries, the construction sector must radically reformed, as far as we are concerned. And there is a lot to be gained, especially on the urban scale.

LEVS and BURA work together on projects such as Hembrug and Merwede, and are both involved in research projects on “Low Carbon Urbanism” in their own way. BURA TALKS is an invitation-only lecture series, in which BURA talks to a colleague agency and other guests, around a central, shared theme.
