BURA EXPERTISE #1

At BURA we work on a sustainable future and we focus on the urban environment. As an office for urbanism and landscape architecture we use design and research to solve complex urban problems. Over the last 10 years the office developed expertise in a variety of fields related to urgent societal and spatial assignments.

This week we focus on ‘Healthy Urbanisation’.
A compact city is sustainable and healthy. BURA looks beyond the housing assignment as an one-issue topic. We promote an effective use of space and seek a balance with other values and aspirations. Spatial densification offers opportunities in cities and villages for more or better homes in relation to space for work and social encounters as well as for green and a shift towards sustainable mobility and energy use. In our view urban densification is not a goal in itself. It is a means to achieve societal added value. It revolves around ‘enriching’ existing environment, leading to attractive, healthy and unique living environments.
