Area agenda ZO Assen! adopted

On 19 December, the Municipal Council of the municipality of Assen approved the Area Agenda ZO Assen! The area agenda sets out the possible course for a future-proof and connected care and working landscape in Southeast Assen. As an area, Southeast Assen is now easily accessible, beautifully green and of value to the economy and the neighborhood. But it can be better for users in many ways, and it is the ideal location to boost the growth ambitions of Assen. The Municipality wants to continue to work together with the various organizations, companies and residents on a more attractive area in the coming years. The Area Agenda is a good basis for this, with the ambition to develop a future-proof care and work landscape, with space for education and housing. There are four sub-areas, each with its own character, interpretation and challenges. In this way, each area can develop into an attractive, green, healthy and sustainable environment to work, visit and live, in line with the relaxed urbanity that characterizes Assen.

BURA has worked together with APPM on behalf of the Gemeente Assen over the past year on drawing up the Area Agenda ZO Assen! It was an inspiring process with close cooperation between the municipality, stakeholders and our team. This beautiful, landscaped area has challenges, but also offers so many opportunities for future-proof development.
