Eindhoven is a pilot city in the government’s ‘Smart and Healthy city’-program and has the ambition to develop an integral method to work on contemporary challenges like healthy urbanisation and mobility, climate adaptation and energy-transition.

Eindhoven is a pilot city in the government’s ‘Smart and Healthy city’-program which aims to develop an integral method to work on contemporary challenges.
The research team identified four typologies of cultural historic structures in the city which are of importance vis-a-vis the identity of the city and its territorial context and the potential for re-imagination of the spaces. Following an analysis for potential impact the research will focus on two case study areas, Fellenoord and Havenhoofd. Here the different spatial structure of cultural historic value meet at the fringe of the city center of Eindhoven.
