BURA (formerly known as marco.broekman) is preparing a participation process to involve the inhabitants of northern districts of the town Doetinchem to envision together a positive future for the town in 2040. The first round of participation process will take place in February 2020 and the follow up round shortly after.
The study area of the northern districts of Doetinchem is characterised by as well varied demographics, as well a intriguing patchwork of spatially and architecturally distinguished neighbourhoods with central, connecting green structures of high potential. The goal is to base the longterm vision of the area on the strengths of the area which are the diversity of people and neighbourhoods, as well as the insight of the inhabitants the existing potentials on the neighbourhood level.
During the first round we will spend two days discussing with the municipality, the inhabitants and important local stakeholders, to define the values and goals of the vision.
The three central theme’s for discussing are health, housing and sustainability and community. The participation trajectory will result in inspiring scenarios that respond to future challenges and suggest integrated solutions in the spatial and social aspects of these three themes.
