In close collaboration with involved stakeholders, BURA (formerly known as marco.broekman) and Stadkwadraat made a spatial vision and development strategy for Galgenwaard/Zoudenbalch. This area in the east of Utrecht is currently an undefined urban outskirt area, where a lot of functions and interests come together. In line with Utrechts’ spatial strategy (RSU) and existing functions as FC Utrecht and the sport college, the area could possibly transform into a unique sport- and leisure area where people can recreate, work and live. Through multiple design workshops with the municipality of Utrecht, investors, owners and other stakeholders, marco.broekman and Stadkwadraat created an integral vision with shared ambitions. The vision has been input for de “Ontwikkelperspectief Maarschalkerweerd”.
