Design competition A Home Away From Home: innovative housing solutions for asylum seekers
The refugee crisis is forcing us to look in a different way to the integration of nomadic groups within the city. Together with the great dynamics in various real estate sectors, this gives the opportunity through technical and social innovation, to use empty buildings for peak refugees and other nomadic groups. However, a good building transformed in a bad place is a waste of money, so an urban and social vision is essential. In our view, should housing for asylum seekers up to be integrated into the urban life of the (big) city. The time-scale reception in peripheral locations is not outdated. Our vision 'NOMAD CITY' offers handles to select the right locations and wants to welcoming manner are home to the nomadic city dweller, with the 'temporary' of the asylum seeker vessel is more than "wait'' for status and can add value for society.
